Leaders Discuss Additive Manufacturing Development at INNOPROM 2025

Ilya Kavelashvili, Director of Rosatom Additive Technologies, presented at the conference “Fast. Complex. Precise. The Role of Additive Technologies in Industrial Advancement” during INNOPROM 2025. The event was organized by the Association of Additive Technologies Development (AATD) in partnership with the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The session was moderated by AATD Executive Director Olga Ospennikova. Other speakers included top figures from Russia’s additive industry: Alexey Mazalov (CEO, CAT), Evgeny Matveev (CEO, F2 Innovations), Artem Solomnikov (CEO, IMPRINTA), Mikhail Filonov (Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, MISIS), Andrey Kopytin (Director, FCS, Ministry of Construction), and more.

Participants discussed how additive technologies are applied in industry and the competitive advantages they offer. The conference also addressed market trends, growth forecasts for Russia’s additive sector, collaboration between business, science, and government, regional initiatives, and successful industrial case studies.

Ilya Kavelashvili highlighted Rosatom Additive Technologies’ achievements as the operator of Russia’s government roadmap for additive development. “Rosatom has reached a new level of production capacity. We now offer two serial metal 3D printers using SLM technology: the mid-size RusMelt 300M and the large-format RusMelt 600M. The latter, with a 600×600×600 mm build volume, is the first Russian system of its kind; previously, only foreign companies produced such printers. This completes our full lineup of additive equipment across all major technologies and product sizes, reinforcing the nuclear industry’s leadership in advancing technological sovereignty,” he said.

Kavelashvili added that additive manufacturing is moving beyond rapid prototyping to become the foundation of a new manufacturing paradigm. Their speed, geometric complexity, and flexibility are transforming aerospace, medicine, and energy sectors. As a technological leader, Rosatom focuses on developing industrial regulatory standards and training highly skilled specialists.

About Rosatom Additive Technologies

Rosatom Additive Technologies is at the forefront of Russia’s industrial 3D printing sector, driving innovation, standards, and workforce development. Since 2019, Russia has prioritized additive manufacturing through national strategies and roadmaps, and Rosatom has been central to this effort—developing more than half of the country’s active 3D printing standards.

The RusMelt 300M, Rosatom’s flagship 3D printer using selective laser melting (SLM), received certification from the Russian Chamber of Commerce in 2023, qualifying it for government procurement programs. This achievement reflects Rosatom’s commitment to quality, reliability, and readiness for international markets.

Rosatom is also expanding infrastructure and skills: seven Public Access Additive Technology Centers (PA ATCs) have been established across Russia to provide training, masterclasses, and hands-on experience. The Russian 3D printing market grew by 60% in 2023 and 23% in 2024, surpassing 18 billion rubles, with Rosatom expected to account for up to 70% of sector investments through 2030.

Rosatom Additive Technologies offers full-cycle solutions for industrial customers: from 3D printers, software, and specialized powders to training and technical support. This ensures companies in strategic industries can implement additive manufacturing efficiently and reliably. Learn more at https://rosat.tvel.ru/
