Rosatom Expands Additive Manufacturing Portfolio with RangeVision 3D Scanners

Rosatom Additive Technologies has entered into a technology partnership with RangeVision, a leading Russian 3D scanner manufacturer (RV LLC), to expand its additive manufacturing portfolio. The collaboration will accelerate the adoption of 3D scanning in the nuclear industry and support joint solutions in both Russian and international markets.

“Russian manufacturers are increasingly seeking components for import substitution,” said Ilya Kavelashvili, Director of Rosatom Additive Technologies. “With reverse engineering enabled by 3D scanning, a digital model can be created, and with a 3D printer the replacement part can be produced immediately—avoiding production downtime and associated losses. We expect this partnership to speed up the introduction of additive technologies across Russian industry, strengthening technological sovereignty and reducing dependence on imported components.”

“Our partnership with Rosatom opens new opportunities,” said Yuri Chaikin, founder of RangeVision. “Faster product development and deployment, a return to international markets, access to large Russian customers, and expansion of our R&D team. Investments provide us with the resources to realize ambitious projects and move forward with greater speed.”

The RangeVision development team will create specialized solutions tailored to the needs of the nuclear sector. TVEL JSC (part of Rosatom) will facilitate the introduction of advanced 3D scanning technologies across machine building, fuel, power generation, and other industries. In the coming years, a new line of high-precision scanners will be developed to meet the strict requirements of the nuclear industry, including enhanced safety and reliability standards. This will significantly improve quality control, repair, and import substitution processes at nuclear facilities.

About Range Vision

3D scanners digitize the surface of an object to create a detailed 3D model, while 3D printers manufacture physical parts based on digital designs. Rosatom has established a full additive manufacturing value chain in Russia, including 3D printers, software, printing materials, and a regional network of additive technology centers. RangeVision scanners will become the final link, enabling a complete reverse-engineering workflow.

RangeVision (RV LLC) is a pioneer of 3D technologies in Russia and a recognized leader in the development and production of 3D scanning systems. Over 15 years, RangeVision has built a product line spanning accessible solutions for education and hobby use to professional metrological scanners widely applied in reverse engineering, digital metrology, quality inspection, and industrial design.
